About HK45
HK45 is a German semi-auto pistol designed 2006 and manufactured in 2007 by Heckler & Koch, in order to meet requirments set forth in the US Military Joint Combat Pistol Programme which had the purpose of arming the US Military with a .45 ACP semi-automatic pistol instead of the 9mm M9 pistol. However, this programme was suspended indefinitely in 2006 and the M9 pistol remains the standard issue pistol of the US Military, HK45 still launch into the commercial market in 2007, as well as to law enforcement and other military units.
